Blake C. Garrett, D.D.S., M.D.

Blake C. Garrett, D.D.S., M.D. attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Illinois receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology.  He received his DDS degree from University of Illinois School of Dentistry in Chicago.  Upon graduation, Dr. Garrett completed a 1-year general practice residency at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.  He furthered his training by attending Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California, where he completed a 2-year residency in Dental Anesthesiology.  During this time, he lectured on “Pre-Anesthesia Assessment for Outpatient Anesthesia.”

Dr. Garrett received his M.D. degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Continuing at the same University, he completed a 1-year internship in General Surgery prior to entering the residency training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He presently holds the position of chief resident.  Dr. Garrett’s training has given him an extensive knowledge in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He is a published author and lecturer on numerous topics relating to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, including but not limited to:  Catastrophic Perioperative Complications and Management, Soft Tissue Trauma, The Difficult Airway and Medication Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw for Oncology Providers.  He holds society memberships with the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the Chicago Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. 

Dr. Garrett resides in the area with his wife, Dr. Steph Garrett, a practicing Pediatric Dentist.  They enjoy traveling, going to the movies and playing with their lovable Pomeranian, Winston.
