Blake C. Garrett, D.D.S., M.D.
Blake C. Garrett, D.D.S., M.D. joined our practice in June 2020, but has been practicing Oral Surgery since 2014. He is one of a small group of oral surgeons in the entire country to have dual specialization in both Oral Surgery and Dental Anesthesiology. His formal education began at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology. He received his DDS from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry then completed a 1-year General Practice Residency at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He performed a 1-year residency for Dental Anesthesiology at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. This training has given him expertise in providing IV sedation to all patients, especially pediatric and those with special needs. Dr. Garrett received his M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA. Following graduation from Medical School he completed a 1-year General Surgery internship at Louisiana State University Health Science Center. He finished his professional training with a 6-year Dual Degree Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the LSU Health Sciences Center. Dr. Garrett’s training has given him extensive knowledge in all aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, including facial trauma, head & neck cancer, facial cosmetics, pediatric oral and facial surgery with a heavy emphasis on dental alveolar surgery; surgical extractions and dental implants. He holds society memberships with the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the Chicago Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Garrett resides in Naperville with his wife, Dr. Steph Garrett, a practicing Pediatric Dentist. They enjoy traveling, going to the movies and playing with their Pomeranian, Winston.
